BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Meaghan has worked in the museum sector for twenty years, most recently as the Executive

Director of the Royal Alberta Museum. Since joining RAM in 2021, she has helped focus the

institution on engaging with its communities and ensuring it is providing value for visitors. Prior

to the RAM she was the Executive Director of the Alberta Museums Association (AMA). At the

AMA, she oversaw several major projects including leading a national project with a consortium

of all eleven Provincial and Territorial Museum Associations and the Canadian Museums

Association to study the value of museums to the Canadian public. 

 

Meaghan is originally from Halifax, NS. She holds a BA in History and Russian Studies from

Dalhousie University and an MA in History from the University of Alberta. She also attended the

University of St. Petersburg in St. Petersburg, Russia. Meaghan was a participant in the

inaugural cohort of the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity’s Cultural Leadership Program, and

she currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Museums Association.
